Our rental options include both single and double touring kayaks, and we offer all necessary equipment and a safety briefing to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience on the water. * Rentals are more advisable for experienced kayakers rather than newbies.

At our Oak Bay location, we offer kayak courses for all skill levels. If you're a beginner with no previous experience on the ocean, join us for a 2-hour Introduction to Kayaking lesson. For those who want to learn or improve their skills, we offer Paddle Canada certification courses.

Brook had everything set up when we arrived and after an informative briefing we were sent on our way with a map and suggested places. He kept our bags safe while we went out. It was a beautiful day! We had an amazing time just chilling with the seals, they were so curious and playful. The water was so clear and we could see them swimming under us. Would 100% recommend!
A day in victoria gets our SEAL of approval!! All equipment was at the beach ready to go making it so easy and such a great location! We saw tons of seals swimming near our kayaks and on top of rocks. We found a beach on the island and saw the seals watching us back! Hah great activity to do while visiting.
We had an amazing tour around the trial islands with beautiful weather and a brilliant guide! This experience left nothing to whish for 🙂
A great experience with Brook as our guide around the trial islands. It was amazing to be able to kayak right next to some seals!! Our guide was experienced and knowledgeable about the area, we felt safe the entire time. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience true kayaking in Victoria!

We had an incredible time on the water this weekend, beautiful views, seals, and got to learn some history of the island too!
Brook was very friendly and had plenty of interesting facts and history to share during the tour. We were confident and comfortable with him even though we are novice kayakers. He took great photos along the tour so we could just focus on the experience but now have wonderful momentos of a special island experience.
Brooke was an excellent guide. Did a 3 hr tour with my 2 kids, 8 and 10. He was great with kids and very knowledgeable of the area. Would definitely recommend.
We had a great time and were so glad we chose this location instead of the busy inner harbor for a kayak tour. Super fun!

Can't recommend this kayak rental enough. We had bad luck with the weather but they tried to accommodate us and make the experience as enjoyable as possible. They even had hot tea waiting for us when we were done 🙂 We were a large group of 9 people and they had plenty of kayaks and gear.
Additionally, they are very knowledgeable of the area and gave us great (safe) advice on where to go.
I hope to go back some day and kayak in Oak Bay with better weather.

Great experience renting a double kayak! Maps given and routes planned for you, makes it easy. Trial islands are beautiful to explore by kayak
We had a lovely time and our guide was extremely helpful, when some of us beginners’ kayaks tipped over (through fault of our own).
We had a wonderful tour of the Trial Islands with Brook. He proved to be very competent and knowledgeable, making for an enjoyable tour. Other than seals and marine birds, we didn’t see much on the day we went out, but Brook pointed out the various haunts of the local wildlife. I would sign up for this tour again in a heartbeat! A bit away from the maddening crowd, very peaceful.
What a great adventure! The weather was great and the calm water let us get close to the seals. Brook is a great and personable guide with safety in mind. This was my second sea kayak tour but the other one I took didn't go into any detail on water safety and rescue plan, nor did they adjust the kayak foot pedals to fit properly like Brook did. I would happily recommend A Day in Victoria to anyone!
Wonderful time kayaking in Victoria. The day was beautiful and waters calm so we got to go over to the island to see seals and otters! Our host made sure the kayaks “fit” and provided us with safety lesson before we started. Would highly recommend.
Amazing tour of the Trial Islands! It was so great exploring the area on the water. We saw so much wildlife including a sea lion, seals, a bald eagle, herons, schools of shimmering fish, and all sorts of interesting sea birds. Brooke was an excellent tour guide the experience was the highlight of my trip to Vancouver island!
We had so much fun on the Introduction to Kayaking session. We were total novices when we started but at the end of 2 hours we were feeling very comfortable in the boats. The company supplied everything we needed and ensured our safety the whole time we were out on the water. I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to try kayaking. The setting in MacNeil bay was lovely.
A great experience. We were the only people kayaking with our guide and I was, at one point, completely surrounded by Harbour seals! The tours are away from the cruise ships and ferries at Victoria Harbour and therefore well worth the longer journey to reach.
My family and I truly enjoyed the Shoreline tour. None of us are experienced kayakers and we had a very exciting introduction to the sport. Our guide, Brook, was very knowledgeable and ensured we had a safe and unforgettable adventure.
We took the Introduction to Paddling course with Brook, he was a fantastic guide and teacher!! We were completely new to kayaking and the area, Brook is super knowledgeable and the course was a lot of fun. Highly recommend it if you are in the area! It's a great way to see Oak Bay as well.

Brook was better than great. He tried his hardest to have us go kayaking off the beach without even getting our feet wet. I felt very safe and enjoyed the tour of the Trial Islands very much. We saw seals, otter, harlequin ducks and black oystercatchers. A bald eagle tore apart a seagull in front of us on one of the islets. Quite the day.
We loved it. The wildlife was abundant: Harbor seals popping up everywhere, eagles, cormorants and other shore birds. Brook clearly explained and demonstrated his skill and knowledge about paddling in these ever changing waters, making the right decision(s) when necessary for navigating us safely around. Put me at ease without worry.
Going to Trial Island was truly a historic event for myself and my daughter. Her great, great, great grandfather capsized his sloop there while moving to Victoria with his wife and mother in November 1883. They were wet, cold and stranded for over 24 hours before being rescued. They lost everything they had. The Royal Hotel gave them accommodations, and the City of Victoria held a benefit to raise money.
Brook showed us where our granddad had likely capsized and also spoke about many historic people and legend characters and other ship wrecks. I can't wait to go back!

I had a fantastic time paddling the 3 hour Trial Island tour. We were in the kayak the whole time (which is what I was hoping for) but also had time to slow down and enjoy the amazing views, beaches and birds. I would definately recommend this trip as well as the knowledgable guide.

Great experience, lots of fun paddle-boarding along the beach. Even spotted some seals!
Fantastic morning! Even though the weather was a bit overcast we enjoyed a few hours on the water. I was very thankful for the skirts and wet bags for the cell phones, kept all of us dry.
This was one of our favourite activities during our trip! We couldn't believe the seals and animals that we were able to see so closely. The guide was also fantastic, he was so kind and told us tons of cool facts about the area/gave us tips for things to do around Victoria afterwards. Would highly recommend!
My wife and I are intermediate/experienced paddlers and Brook was very accommodating in letting us start our 3 hour tour a bit earlier in the day. This was very helpful for us since we have somewhere to be that evening. Our paddle was fantastic and Brook was an excellent guide being very knowledgeable about the area. I would definitely use this company again.
Did a 3 hour tour of Oak Bay and Trial Island with Brook (owner). He was extremely attentive and communicative and had all sorts of stories and abundant knowledge of the area and history. The 3 of us.had a fantastic time and would recommend heartily. They were accommodating to our schedule and abilities and frankly would have paid more than we did for the experience. 5+ stars
Had a very nice experience with the Kayak rentals! Good customer service, and the owners were very easy going and helpful. We were just looking for a fun activity while over in Victoria and it was well worth it. I will definitely be coming back 🙂
Best outing in Victoria, the guide Brook is awesome, so friendly and personable. We had a great 3 hour tour would highly recommend to choose this outfit. We even got up close to the seals sunning themselves.
